Mick Gordon, the composer responsible for crafting several of Bethesda's more memorable soundtracks, is very good at his job.
DOOM has a longstanding history of being a game centered around extreme brutality (it's okay because they're demons). Therefore, it's important that the music, which I like to imagine is actually just the music that Doomslayer hears inside his head whilst shredding ass with impunity, is tonally on par with carnage happening on-screen.
To achieve this end, Gordon enlisted the help of several vocalists from various heavy metal bands to assist in assaulting our ear canals with an audio beatdown teeming with demonic-sounding chants and otherworldly screeches.
The red-tinted lighting paired with the candle-lit microphone shrine is also a very nice touch.
