Ever wanted to know who would win a fight between Blasphemous's Penitent One and Guacamelee's Juan Aguacate? What about Darkest Dungeon's Crusader and Dead Cells' The Beheaded? In Bounty Battle, Merge Games upcoming brawler, these beloved characters and others from across various popular indie franchises have finally met their match.
If you've ever played games like Super Smash Bros or Brawlhalla, you probably already know what to expect from Bounty Battle in terms of gameplay. Up to 4 players are pit against one another in a 2D fight for honor, prestige, and whatever else your group of friends put on the table. Each fighter and arena is a character/set-piece yanked directly from one of the many indie games represented in Bounty Battle, which include Awesomenauts, Nuclear Throne, Owlboy, Axiom Verge, SteamWorld Dig, and many others.
Additionally, each character comes with their own unique abilities, as well as a "minion" that can be summoned to assist in the fight.
Ahead of next month's release, the fine folks at Merge Games have put out a new trailer showcasing Bounty Battle's extensive, 30-character roster, and I'm willing to bet that indie fans will recognize at least some of the contenders.
Bounty Battle launches for Nintendo Switch, Playstation 4, Xbox One & PC on July 16th.
