Australia is literally on fire. The resulting damage is, at this particular juncture, immeasurable. Needless to say - what's happening over there is terrible, and the majority of the planet can do little more than sit back and watch it happen - offering either the entirely useless "thoughts and prayers" anecdote, or throw money at the problem in hopes that it will be used responsibly and with the utmost urgency. Best case scenario, the latter of which will yield some meaningful results.
Fortunately, the folks at Bungie are here to entice us nerds with some exclusive, limited edition, and decidedly good looking swag in exchange for helping them fund the firefighting and conversation efforts happening at this very moment to save Australia and its fuzzy inhabitants.
Starting today and until February 18th, the "Guardians for Australia" T-Shirt will be available for pre-order on the Bungie Store. The shirt, which you best believe I'll be tossing a coin at, depicts a Guardian ship flying above a pack of Kangaroos in what is almost definitely the Australian Outback. Visually, it's a cozy sentiment. The thought of a Guardian swooping in to save the day is, in this case especially, thoroughly heart-warming.
Profits will be split between the NSW Rural Fire Service and WIRES, which is Australia's largest wildlife rescue organization.
