At long last, a proper Crash Bandicoot sequel. That is, if a recent rating by The Taiwan Digital Game Rating Committee is to be believed.

According to Gematsu, the sequel in question is titled Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time, and it's being developed by the same studio that brought us the Spyro Reignited Trilogy, Toys for Bob. This info has since been corroborated by industry insider Daniel Ahmad, who says that an announcement was planned for June 22nd during Summer Games Fest.

Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time box art

Based on the available box art, it's probably safe to say that Crash Bandicoot 4 will release on PS4 and Xbox One sometime this generation.

However, until we get an official announcement, all we know about Crash's next adventure can be gleamed from this translated synopsis provided by the rating board:

Crash is relaxing and exploring his island in his time, 1998, when he finds a mysterious mask hidden away in a cave, Lani-Loli. The mask is one of the Quantum Masks and apparently knows Aku-Aku, Crash’s mask friend! With the Quantum Masks returning and a Quantum Rift appearing near our heroes, they decide to bravely head through to different times and dimensions to stop whoever is responsible.
