Devolver Digital, aka the self-proclaimed "seventh best indie game label", has announced that it will be hosting its annual Not-E3 showcase on July 11th.
Dubbed "Devolver Digital Direct", or D3 - if you will, the pre-recorded live event aims to continue "the tradition of overpromises with new game reveals, gameplay reveals, release date announcements, and special guests from the industry to help usher in these important marketing bullet points."
Taking a jab at recent gameplay showcases that failed to deliver, or perhaps even the entitlement of many unimpressed viewers, the publisher emphasizes that what they're showing off is "nearly all gameplay because that’s what the youths of today demand."
While titles such as Carrion and Disc Room are currently on the list of games to be shown during the event, Devolver Digital's announcement suggests that there's a chance for some surprise reveals, noting "who can really tell where this is all leading."
Devolver Digital Direct 2020 starts at 12PM PST on July 11th, and can be watched on the Twitch Gaming channel.
