If the height of a fantasy can be measured by the number of words used in its title, then The Dungeon Of Naheulbeuk: The Amulet Of Chaos - an upcoming tactical RPG based on the works of French author John Lang - must certainly be amongst the highest, right?
We'll find out sooner rather than later, as developer Artefacts Studio and publisher Dear Villagers have announced that their game is destined to release on August 27th via Steam, Epic Games Store, and GOG.
Admittedly, up until this point I didn't know a whole lot about The Dungeon Of Naheulbeuk: The Amulet Of Chaos, other than the fact that it's putting my copy & paste skills to the test. Much of its marketing has so far focused almost entirely on its vocal talent, which is lead by Supernatural alum Felicia Day.
However, from what I can tell, The Dungeon Of Naheulbeuk: The Amulet Of Chaos seems to have quite a bit more going for it than that. Does it have charm? Yes. Does it have humor? According to the press release, also yes. Does it take itself too seriously? Thankfully not. If my initial impressions are correct, then we could have ourselves a proper mix of A Bard's Tale and Baldur's Gate, which sounds like a winning combination to me.
