It was only just last month that Dying Light treated fans with an impromptu Left 4 Dead crossover event that was as satisfying as it was surprising, and now they're at it again with a limited event that merges their particular brand of zombie-slaying action with another franchise. This time around, it's Chivalry: Medieval Warfare being brought in, allowing players to crusade against the undead like it's the 15th century.

Much like previous events, it's all about the community coming together to complete objectives and unlock exclusive items. As one might except from this particular crossover, the focus is on melee combat - particularly swords, shields, and using your God-given combat prowess to protect the weak and smite those who would do them harm.

As part of the event, players can wield the Zweihander longsword and Medieval Shield during their quest to rid the world of the undead's blight. In this pursuit, special gold gear will be awarded to those who perform gallant acts - whatever that means - along the way.

In addition to chopping down hordes of zombies in their pursuit of glory, players will also encounter heavily armored and blade-savvy knights that will test their meddle by provoking their metal - if you know what I mean, which will certainly make things interesting to say the least.

The Dying Light x Chivalry crossover event has already begun, and though only running until December 16th, everyone who downloads the free Chivalry Weapon Pack DLC will be able to add the aforementioned Zweihander longsword and Medieval Shield to their permanent arsenal.
