Five Nights at Freddy's 7 tease

Back in August, Five Nights at Freddy's creator, Scott Cawthon, updated his website with a mysterious image. It depicted the silhouettes of some familiar looking characters as they put on what appears to be a concert inside a neon-draped shopping mall. With the inclusion of a caption simply stating "2020", many thought that this was a subtle hint at a new entry in the horror series.

Every once in a while I'll check for new information, and it just so happens that today I found that the website had been updated with a new image, as well as what I consider to be some interesting clues found within the site's code.

Five Nights at Freddy's creator is hinting at a 7th entry in the main series

Of course, this new image is the biggest standout. It depicts what looks to be a fashion-forward Freddy standing on stage with the caption "Rock!". It's all very 80's New Wave, what with the earring and shoulder pads, and gives us a better look into what's going on in this scene. As many had inferred from the original image, the FNAF gang are rocking out to a crowd of onlookers, possibly even fans.

Then, upon further inspection I noticed this:

I'm not going to begin to speculate who that is, but they appear to be holding a knife. I'm also willing to bet that a blade-wielding assailant isn't supposed to be part of the show, so who are they and what is their murderous intent?

Lastly, I inspected the page to see if there were any details hidden in its code. In addition to some meta data that reads like a cryptic poem, what I found were several references to the number 7 within the HTML markup. This is especially interesting because those <p> tags are empty, and therefore have no other reason for being there. Five Nights at Freddy's most recent entry in its main series was number 6, so it stands to reason that the inclusion of 7 here is to subtly signify the next numbered entry. Coincidence?

So that's it for now, but I believe that this leaves us with plenty to think about. While the evidence thus far would seem to suggest that Five Nights at Freddy's 7 will be releasing sometime in 2020, I'm just having fun mining for clues.
