As a fan of historical satire and a proponent of Christopher Columbus being a human trash bag, Here Be Dragons speaks to me on an intrinsically spiritual level by taking the gospel of Columbus's escapades and having a little bit of fun with its extensively-embellished lore. It's a game about the "Avant Armada" - a probably fictional company of brave, albeit insane folks that sailed ahead of Columbus's famous voyage to the New World in order to clear the waters of its many monstrous inhabitants. Heralding in Here Be Dragons launch into early access, developer Red Zero Games has released a trailer that demonstrates all you need to know.

In addition to its brilliantly illustrated turn-based combat, Here Be Dragons features a unique art-style that the developer appropriately describes as resembling a "living map". From the footage I've seen, this is a very adept observation.

Here Be Dragons is available in early access on Steam.
