Nothing good ever seems to come out of abandoned mountain resorts, and this does not look to be an exception.

The Suicide of Rachel Foster is a psychological thriller / murder-mystery title that's being developed by Italian studio ONE-O-ONE GAMES. On the surface, the game appears to be as much influenced by contemporary narrative-driven experiences such as Gone Home as it is Stephen King's The Shining. Quite the elevator pitch if you ask me.

According to its Steam page, The Suicide of Rachel Foster is a story of "love and death" that sees the game's protagonist, Nicole, return to an aging hotel she and her family once called home. Several years prior, Nicole had fled the hotel with her mother after discovering that her father was having an affair with Rachel, a girl Nicole's own age, whom became pregnant and eventually committed suicide.

At the behest of her dying mother, Nicole returns to the hotel in an attempt to sell the property, as well as to make amends with Rachel's family for the wrongs of her father.

The Suicide of Rachel Foster, which is scheduled for a February 2020 release, looks to be atmospheric, dark, and thoroughly unsettling. As Nicole explores the decaying grounds of her family's hotel, it's almost certain that the ghosts of her past will make their presence known.
