Sorry fellow mobsters, Mafia: Definitive Edition has been bumped back from its original August 28th release date to September 25th. The delay was announced in a joint statement, with both developer Hangar 18 and publisher 2K citing complications arising from the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

Unsurprising, but most importantly - understandable.

"Though we’d originally planned to release the game one month earlier on August 28, finalizing everything in time for that launch date has become increasingly challenging due to the ongoing global COVID-19 pandemic," the statement reads, "and the last thing we want to do is compromise the quality of the experience."

There is a small sliver of silver-lining, as we were given a new teaser trailer showing some actual gameplay. Additionally, a more extended look at Mafia: Definitive Edition is planned for July 22nd.

Full details can be read on the Mafia website.
