It's been in and out of rumor mill for quite some time that Overwatch would be making an appearance on the Switch sometime this year (source: The Internet).
Speculation has been rampant in no short part due to one particular online retailer accidentally listing an Overwatch-themed Switch peripheral, which honestly should have been enough to persuade anyone to believe. But then, because gamers are extra AF, some rando posted a picture of a supposed datasheet containing release dates for upcoming games that happened to list Overwatch as a Switch title.
While both instances presented some fairly compelling evidence to support a release on Nintendo's handheld, it couldn't be put to rest until an official announcement - which, thankfully, we just got.
That's right - come October 15th, Switch owners can get rekt just like the rest of us who continue to ponder the question of "What is strategy?" and cycle through every class in hopes that one will finally click.
In addition to being playable on-the-go for the first time ever, one notable feature that appears to be unique to the Switch version is its use of the handheld's motion controls. That's pretty neat, right?
