Rockstar Games has introduced the latest job specialization to take full advantage of player's innate inclination to pursue law-adjacent activities. This time around, it's the business of manufacturing and selling moonshine, and let me just go out on a limb here to say that the market is primed to take a ride on that white lightening.

The Moonshiners update gives players that chose the noble path of a humble Trader to deviate from their otherwise law-abiding practices to instead focus in on the real money maker - booze. Those who have achieved either Rank 5 or completed one Trader Sell Mission are eligible to invest their life savings into a backwoods shack that will serve as the center of their moonshining operation.

Once burgeoning moonshiners have procured the necessary real estate to get their business up and running, players can take their remaining coin to personalize their space with a bar for serving drinks to guests, a dance floor, and even a space to for the band that can be hired to play the soundtrack of your criminal pursuits.

Naturally, becoming a moonshiner comes with its own set of risks and rewards. As players progress through their own moonshiner-specific story missions, they will be forced to deal with rivaling moonshine peddlers in order for their business to ascend to the top of the booze business. The good news is that beating out the competition means stealing their recipes and clientele, which means more profit.

The Moonshiner update is already live, and with it comes an assortment of quality-of-life improvements to Red Dead Online. The full list of items can be read over on Rockstar's newswire.
