Resident Evil 3 Nemesis remake is probably in the works

After the success of the Resident Evil 2 Remake, it should come as no surprise that Capcom would quickly finish their round of collective high fives and start down the path of recreating the next entry in their beloved series. While it has long-since been expected, the rumor-mill has only now begun to churn as the result of a handful of in-the-knowers claiming that a Resident Evil 3 Remake is indeed in active development.

Resident Evil 3's speculative announcement came by way of youtuber Spawn Wave - who has a reputable history of breaking news that was not yet ready to be shared with the public - and then corroborated by numerous sources claiming to be intimately familiar with Capcom's dealings. By no means is it definitive, but if it looks like the zombie, sounds like a zombie, and walks like a zombie.. Well, you know the rest.

Most will likely remember 1999's Resident Evil 3 - codenamed: Nemesis - for its titular character that ceaselessly hunts the player through the game. With Resident Evil 2 Remake's excellently meme-worthy Mr. X - who is inherently somewhat similar to Nemesis on several counts, it will be interesting to see if or how Capcom ups the ante for the pursuer.

Again, not entirely shocking, but given Capcom's history of disregarding what many within the fanbase might consider common sense, especially when it comes to the Resident Evil franchise, it's somewhat comforting to kind-of know that they are staying the course - for now.
