As the war between baseball bat-wielding green and purple aliens continues to wage on, many are left wondering when we'll see an end to the violence? If developer Rockstar has anything to do with it, that answer would be "never".
It's evident that Rockstar has been at least aware of the meteoric rise of the "Alien War" phenomenon, but now I'd say it's pretty clear that they're ready to take the next step as an active contributor.
Though the $350,000 price of entry was modest by GTA Online's current economic standards, it was still enough of a barrier to make one consider their allegiances before investing in either a purple or green suit. Now that the price barrier has been lifted, it remains to be seen whether having such ease of access to both sides will turn otherwise loyal soldiers into agents of opportunity.
In any case, what is almost certain is that we're about to see a massive influx of aliens joining the fight, which, according to reddit, is scheduled to have its bloodiest battle yet on May 15th.
