In a show of support for the ongoing Black Lives Matter movement, Rockstar Games has temporarily suspended both GTA Online and Red Dead Online until 1PM PST, meaning players will not have access to either during this time. The company hopes to use this period as an opportunity to "honor the legacy of George Floyd", whose death at the hands of police has sparked a wave of protests and rioting across the US and countries around the world.

The studio announced via Twitter that they would be temporarily taking their flagship titles offline, and urges players to take action against social inequality by donating to one of many civil rights-supporting organizations.

Rockstar is among several big names in the gaming industry to have recently begun using their platforms to speak out against racial discrimination. While some have publicly condemned institutionalized racism through comments on social media, others are pledging hundreds of thousands of dollars to combat it.
