If you think about it, isn't Dead by Daylight just the asymmetric equivalent of Silent Hill? Okay, maybe that's not entirely accurate, but apparently someone thought that they were at least complementary, because the two are coming together for what is certainly going to be an anxiety-inducing crossover.
As part of the upcoming Silent Hill update, Dead by Daylight is receiving a new map, survivor, and killer based on the storied franchise. The Midwich Elementary School will soon become ground zero for many a brutal slaughter, and prior cult abductee Cheryl Mason joins the cast of survivors to add her signature brand of danger-avoidance skills.
Then there's the killer, who you probably already knew the identity of when you read the headline. Few video game antagonists have instilled as much primal fear as Silent Hill's Pyramid Head, so his inclusion is a great way to ensure that players will get to experience the business end of his iconic blade for years to come.
Even though this crossover event offers only a modest portion of Silent Hill, it's honestly so nice to see the franchise being used for something else other than slot machines.
