A brief teaser trailer for Dead by Daylight Chapter 14 made a surprise appearance this morning, and it seems to be trying to suggest something - however it's unclear as to what exactly that is.
The trailer opens up in what appears to be the Yamaoka Estate - a level currently in the game. Everything appears to be business as usual, what with the copious amounts of blood staining the floor. Then things start to get a little weird when the aforementioned blood begins to retract into a lone oni mask mounted on the wall. The only line of dialogue in the trailer, while thoroughly demonic in cadence, is difficult to decipher both because of its brevity and also the fact that it's in Japenese. However, thanks to the internet, apparently the disembodied voice is saying "your blood is Yamaoka’s"
This particular namedrop has caused a frenzy of speculation regarding the identity of this entity. Some have determined that it is the father of one of the game's killers, Rin Yamaoka, whom is better known as "The Spirit" to those that fear her. Separately, there are a considerable number of fans who believe that, whoever it is, will have the power to manipulate time - hence the whole blood absorption thing happening in the trailer.
