In recent days, companies across the gaming industry have begun showing their support for the ongoing Black Lives Matter movement. Most are offering words of solidarity, while others are pledging donations to combat racial inequality. Minecraft developer Mojang is the latest to join the list of companies doing the latter, announcing earlier today that it would be contributing its June 19th profits from Minecraft-related sales to three prominent civil rights organizations.

"In commemoration of Juneteenth, on Friday, June 19, 2020, we will donate all profits from that day’s sales of Minecraft, Minecraft Dungeons, and content in the Minecraft Marketplace to the following organisations: Black Lives Matter Foundation, Equal Justice Initiative, and the NAACP Legal Defense & Education Fund." the company wrote on its official Twitter account.

Ideally, this means that anyone who might have been planning to make any Minecraft-related purchases will hold off until then.

Though likely a drop in the hat compared to what Mojang's parent company, Microsoft, makes in a day, Minecraft's continued success and popularity will hopefully translate into a sizable donation.
