I suppose this may be good news for dieticians or other people who don't enjoy nice things, but for those of us who love to live Live Más until our hearts give out, today is a sad day that marks the end of an era for Taco Bell enthusiasts such as myself.

As part of a "decluttering" effort aimed at streamlining their menu, as well as to highlight its more popular items, Taco Bell is doing away with nine of their offerings - including the Cool Ranch and Fiery Doritos Locos Tacos. The loss of these flavor-dusted delectables can't be over-stated, and many folks have already begun the process of mourning their impending demise.

Other menu items that are going the way of Disco include the Chipotle Chicken Loaded Griller, Double Decker Taco, Chips & Salsa, Double Tostada, Beefy Mini Quesadilla, Power Menu Burrito, and lastly - one of my personal favorites - the Grilled Stuft Burrito.

In a statement doubling as words of comfort, the company wanted to remind us that "Sometimes you have to let go of the old to welcome in the new". While not immediately feeling reassured in the wake of losing some of my favorite Taco Bell treats, one can only hope that their sacrifice will not be in vain and their absence will soon be filled by other tasty dietary abominations.
