Today, Rockstar Games announced a new Heist for GTA Online. This time around, the sights are set on Los Santos's most opulent den of sin.
In it's lengthy history, GTA Online has provided us with a wide assortment of large-scale jobs. We've ripped off some big time dope manufacturers, busted a guy out of prison and lived to tell the tale, and even thwarted a doomsday scenario from annihilating all of mankind. Needless to say, it's been a good run. But just when players were beginning to think that they'd seen and done it all - having extorted, exploited, and ransacked all manner of lowlifes and criminals - in comes The Diamond Resort and Casino.
Ever since first opening its doors to the public, The Diamond Resort and Casino has stood in defiance of player's insatiable desire for the "big score", so thank goodness we are finally getting the opportunity to apply our years of heists expertise to rip off that pretentious bastard of a cesspool for all it's got.
According to today's announcement, The Diamond Casino Heist - as it is being called - will feature "a diverse range of opportunities for set-up and prep missions" with "multiple paths of approach." Additionally, players can expect a wide variety of variables to impact the way events unfold once the job is actually afoot.
"Even if the best laid plans go sideways, you’ll have the opportunity to keep the mission afloat without failing by shooting your way out with your remaining team lives, all allowing the Heist to be highly re-playable with new scenarios unfolding each time." The announcement reads, implying that there won't be just one way of achieving success. This is in stark contrast to previous heists that forced players to abide within fairly strict parameters.
Much like how previous heists required the job's leader to own adequate housing in order to kick things off, The Diamond Casino Heist introduces a new Arcade business property that serves as a cover operation/HQ for planning, practicing, and otherwise making all the necessary preparations needs to take on the most heavily guarded and thoroughly fortified vault in all of Los Santos. Inside, players can practice hacking keypads as well as cracking vault doors as to ensure full preparedness for what will likely be the most intense heist yet.
The Diamond Casino Heist will go be available starting December 12th.
